I managed to sleep until 9am this morning which was really fine. My time in Cape Town has flown past and I can't believe this is my last day. First I put all my clothes into get washed as I was down to wearing my bikini as underwear hehe. then went to the post office to send a parcel home full of souvenirs.
When I got back to the hostel, Clare was just back from her paragliding and was about to leave. We said our goodbyes :( which was horrible and then I spent a few hours sending emails, trying to change my flights etc. I phoned Adam to confirm by flight number and time of my arrival to Sydney etc so that was good.
Next I knew it was 1.30pm and I hadn't had breakfast, so I decided to have a walk to Long Street for a quick lunch before coming back to the hostel for some sunbathing and a swim. It was a hot hot day perfect for a tan top up.
Except that plan went straight out the window when I bumped into Nicole and Sandy shopping on Long Street. They came and joined me for lunch, before I joined them for some shopping. Phoebe had met up with Chris for the afternoon, so we waited for her to come and meet us before heading for a drink.
It was Phoebe and Nicole's last day too, but their flight to Perth tomorrow was slightly later than mine. We got in touch with the others and arranged to meet Simone and Sophie for cocktails at Cafe Mojito about 6pm.
It ended up being a dash back to the hostel for a quick shower (no time to pack) and back to Long Street. The boys had planned to go to a Greek restaurant but they didn't realise it was our last night so it was easy to convince them to join us. Every day the group was getting smaller and smaller.
We started with happy hour cocktails and then ended up at a pub restaurant for tea. Matt and I ended up drinking a couple whiskey's at the bar, the Melbourne boys had been wanting to have a whiskey night for weeks so tonight ended up being the night.
I really needed to pack my rucksack, as I had an early morning but as the minutes passed it was obvious that wasn't going to happen tonight.
I managed to check my emails and got confirmation that my flight dates were all successfully changed after my emails in the morning. I was super happy after receiving this email, plus Phoebe was given an amazing job offer this morning so we were celebrating!!!!
It wasn't late when we headed home, maybe around midnight. The girls got taxis back to their hotels and house, while Matt and I walked back to the hostel.
I had a bottle of red that Clare had left me from her winery tour, that was going to be wasted if we didn't finish it. Matt and I sat on the balcony talking about everything and anything, finishing Clare's bottle of red.
It was such a lovely way to end an amazing trip, the view from the balcony over the city was stunning. Before we knew it, it was 2am. The boys were all leaving at 5 in the morning to make a 5hour journey to the biggest bungee jump in the world.. gutted I wasn't able to go with them. I said my goodbyes to them before heading to sleep.
We have planned a big night out in Melbourne on the 7th of January though so it won't be long before I'm reunited with the crazy 3!!! :)
Cape Town has well and truely ended my trip in style. xxx
