Hmm what can I say, I barely remember taking down our tent this morning at 4.30am, possibly because I was still sound asleep while we did it, not because there might have been a trace of alcohol in my blood.
The whole group looked like zombies, it was hilarious. Nobody got much sleep last night and I'm sure the truck must of stank of drink this morning. Everyone took their sleeping bags into the truck and found some random position to sleep, some people just stayed in their pj's and didn't get dressed hehe. We were late in leaving (the first time ever) as some people needed quite a few alarm clocks :) so it wasn't until after 5.30am we ended up on the road.
This was going to be a very long day! We were told it would be between a 10 and 12 hour transit and lunch was on the road. On the plus side we were heading to Cape Town!!! Yay!
We arrived in Cape Town around 4ish, so it was a lovely 11 hours on the truck for the very last time. When we came over the hill and looked down on Cape Town it was spectacular with Table Mountain just there!!!
We were all in a hotel for our last night as part of the tour and it was lovely. Within seconds of being in the room the place was a tip, rucksacks emptied and stuff everywhere. I was sharing with my fav tent buddy for the last time :(
I tried again to bring my flights forward to Sydney, with no luck :( We both went for a walk down town and had a look in some of the boutique shops! There was heaps of them :)
We had our last group tea tonight at Mama Africa's, I had crocodile kebabs which were spot on! A group of us headed back to the hotel at about 9pm as we were totally shattered from the long day and early start! Cape Town is the most funkiest city I've been in, gorgeous Victorian buildings with people drinking and eating on the balcony and on the streets!
I managed to phone Mum for a news before heading to bed and spoke to Adam about my plans for my Asia trip!
It is bliss to have such a big fluffy pillow and a bed!!! I'm going to sleep like a baby.
