Well, we've had some complaints that there hasn't been a blog in a while so here goes!
We're back up in Darwin after another marathon through the outback. This time around we drove from Townsville on the east coast of Queensland heading west and then up through the northern territory back to Darwin. All in all it took us five days, avergaing about 600-700 kilometers a day! We went through plagues of locusts, we jumped huge potholes in the car (oops!) and kim pulled a live joey out of the pouch of a road killed Wallaby. Yes, it was as horrible as it sounds. We affectionately named the little fella "E.T" for obvious reasons.
We've done quite alot since we were last writing a blog. Some of the best have been Fraser Island where we saw Dingos, Shark infested waters, lakes filled entirely from rain water which were super uber clean and lots and lots and lots of sand. Very white sand. We've also been to the Great Barrier Reef which was fantastic. We dived there which was really fun, considering its been a while since we last dived. Saw many fishies like Clown Fish (nemo) and even a turtle. We learnt an interesting thing though. Clown Fish like Nemo are actually Hermaphrodites so in the film when the mother dies, the father clown fish would turn into a female and Nemo would pair up with him. Weird eh! Anyways! We also did lots of snorkelling on the reef and took some piccies. We were going to get the camera developed, but now we can't afford it so we'll be sending that one home we think!
Only a month or less left in Australia now, tis very sad, before our triumphant return to Asia! On the cards are Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand before our flight home out of Malaysia in mid July. So stay tuned folks!!! x
