Well we probably have the weirdest opinion of Alice Springs as we will always remember it as a rainy place :) Everyone kept reminding us that we were very lucky but it was hard to believe when you're travelling from England and you're sleeping in a holy tent! We couldn't believe how happy everyone was to see the rain, the floods and even the traffic jams that followed! Unbelievable we know! It was very cool to see the Todd river flow, it only flows every 3 or 4 years so it was pretty amazing to see it flow twice in 2 weeks.
Despite the rain,we explored the neighbouring MacDonnell ranges and also managed to get stuck in the mud. There I was (kim) knee deep in mud trying to digg our wheels out . Pretty funny, but got a little embarrased when some nice australians ended up covered in this red mud from head to toe and ruinning their brand new tow rope. Only regret was that we couldn't get a picture of it all :)hehe
Apart from that we spent as much time as we could volunteering at the Alice Springs Reptile Centre. We had such an amazing time there, handling all sorts of snakes and lizards. Was especially cool cleaning out Bub's enclosure (a huge Perentie who had the honour of biting a chunk out of Steve Irwin's arm :). Also Spent a lot of time squashing cockroaches' heads to make them easier to catch for some very slow lizards.
I'm pleased to annonce that Tom got bitten twice, by Evil Jack a tiny Beardie and by the tiniest of pythons hehe, and it drew blood youpie!
