My poor white body has not seen sun for months! So, feeling a bit lobster-ish the day after! Oh well: I'll sit in shade today!
Met the lovely Janice (see blog cover) out the night before when we were forced to snuggle up on the 'love seat' together at Rhapsody (my fav) and we got to chatting and ended up having a couple of cocktails then fresh Gyros and Greek Salad in the beautiful winding cobbled streets! They were delicious and so cheap! Of course, topped it off with a Greek Salad!
The next day I met Janice at her hotel which I walked to (in the extreme heat!). Then we went to Platys Gialos, which is basically at the southern end of the public bus route (£1.80 bus fare). On arriving we bought a "hopper" boat fare that allows you to hop on and off st any of the beautiful beaches: in order: Paranga, then Paradise then Super Paradise and lastly Elia (the current "gayest")...trust me the rainbow flag was flying. There were Beach lounge chairs with umbrellas which we sat on and then were told we had to pay €15 for the chair and spend a minimum of €30 on food: both doable; grabbed a Mojito and just ran and jumped into the crystal blue water (see Blog pics on Elia Beach!). The water was actually very cold though so I spend most of the day Cruisin around and body-watching (and eating and drinking!)
...oh! At the boat station met 2 gay lads from Florida so they joined us for the day as well...band I met them out later for a drink n show At Elysium: that was basically an overpriced but very glamorous outdoor party sunset bar! To give you an idea: a bottle of water, normally €0.70 euro was €10 here! Won't be a nightly hang out I don't think!
The best part of this night was meeting David from San Francisco! What a lovely, kind and sexy man he was! Black to boot! Ha ha! Needless to say we had a great fun night...we seemed to just 'click'. We had dinner at Venice Beach and wandered around all night...!
Pity he is flying to Vienna today but hopefully we will keep in touch! He was in Santorini when I was there too! Missed opportunity there! Got his number and email so I'm sure we will (actually have) kept in touch!
Today I'm off on a drop-my-entire pack of clothes at a laundromat as they are at the point of standing up on their own! If only hotels had at least one washing machine or a value 'just wash n fold' option this part of travel would be a lot easier.
Some more wandering and who knows what or who'll I discover!
