We were rudely awoken by the alarm at 4.30am for a coach pick-up at 5.30 to watch the sunrise over Ayres Rock. It was quite cloudy from the storm the night before but well worth seeing. We caught a flight from melbourne to Ayres Rock this morning which took about 2 1/2 hours. There was hardly anyhting to see from the plane. just lots of red soil and trees! Arrived at the resort mid-afternoon. There wasn't much to do there so we just went for a walkie again! The sunset was amazing over the outback and the Olgas rocks. Arrived in Melboure with the temperature at 4c. We were very cold to say the least. The hostel had duvets which were well recieved. Didn't do much, just wondered the area of St kilda and slept a fair bit.

Went to Raffels for afternoon tea, expensive but a visit to Singapore isn't complete with a visit to Raffles, even if it was for a cuppa and not a famous Sinagpore Sling! Flew onto to Australia Friday night.

Departed KL on a luxury bus destined for Singpore and were loaded up with Famous Amos cookies for the long journey! Oh and grapes! This was the first time we had crossed a country border by road and it was a bit of an ordeal!
