We were rudely awoken by the alarm at 4.30am for a coach pick-up at 5.30 to watch the sunrise over Ayres Rock. It was quite cloudy from the storm the night before but well worth seeing. We decided to do the base walk around the rock which was 9.6km. Don't underestimate the size of the thing! No sooner have you gone round one corner, theres another! It just nevre seems to end. After a long, hot and tiring walk, we were finished by 10am and in need of chocolate......to bump the engery levels up! Chocolate had never tasted so good! Flew back to Melbourne and checked into a fab hostel in the City center. Made a last minute decision to go to the neighbours Night....come on, it has to be done! Met toady, karl and Steph and played a quiz....in which we come 2nd. It wasn' t all neighbours questions.....we're not that sad! P.s......we loved it!!
