So not going to lie feeling pretty intimidated by our mission this morning. Getting around here is nothing as easy as Mexico. With two buses to catch before we make our destination, our challenge is on...see where we land up.
We catch a taxi to the first bus stop to get our first bus to Armenia; approx 5 hrs journey, this happened to be quite easy from there we must get a locals bus to Boquia; 1 hours journey. After an hour of arm waving and pacing the bus station we find the right bus to get on but where we get off is another story and by this Time it is pitch dark already,
Driving through Armenia is pretty cool yet manic traffic. Stopping at the red lights we are luckily enough to have a bit of entertainment, a guy juggling skittles with one foot on his bike saddle and the other on his handle bars. There was a lot of this for stopped traffic and then they hope for tips before the cars move on, it's quite impressive.
On a bus; on the way to who knows as we can't see a thing; we were lucky enough to have some help from a local as to where to get off. We have arrived to a really tiny little street with a couple shops selling string packets of sweets and not much else, we were starving, we hadn't managed to eat since breakfast. Not only that but we have now got to find our hostel in the dark, there is no lighting at all, we are really out in the sticks and Paul is getting hangry.
A kind local points us in the right direction and after a lot of whinging, stomping and bickering, passing rocky walk paths, blank faced horses and angry dogs we find our hostel a little country wooden traditional type lodge building, it was stunning. We sat out on the decking in the dark with our cup of tea chatting with a lovely Dutch couple for a while and got some tips for plans tomorrow..some more hiking at last. We eat our half of banana for tea and get to sleep.
