Trailor on Tour
Nicole arrived from England yesterday, after a two day journey and we went out for a drink last night before she finally gave in to exhaustion. Nic is best mates with Natalia, who I have been friends with since infant school!!
Today we were up reasonably early, with the intention of getting ourselves organised and deciding where and how to travel the country. We asked at the travel centre at the YHA, only to be told that it is high season and there is no way we will be able to get a camper van unless we have booked well in advance. Being fairly persistent, we decided to try and find a van ourselves and were lucky on the 1st attempt. It is to be collected tomorrow from the airport, so we shall see. I'll believe it when I see it!!
The remainder of the day was spent up the Skytower, which is the highest in the Southern Hemisphere. At the top we had a glass of wine and a Bailey's, very civilised.
Next stop The Occidental Belgian Beer Cafe, where we had Caesar salad and frites, to celebrate out good fortune in locating said van. From here we wandered towards home, only to get caught up in the flow of pedestrians heading for The Domain, a large parkland area in the city. It was the night of the free Skylight Symphony, which was very much like the classical outdoor concerts in the UK - Leeds Castle, etc. We lay around on the grass for a while until it got a little chilly and we headed back to sleep, before the big adventure begins tomorrow. Fingers crossed we'll have a van!! Until then Sherry xx
