Woke up early - again!! Drove into town and Nic booked to go on a big scary fast boat trip out into the Bay of Islands, which I opted not to do. Instead I spent my time doing the last lot of postcards for you lot!! We had time to kill prior to the boat trip and so after coffee in a cafe overlooking the harbour we decided to do a walk that was recommended in the guide book. It said it would take about an hour to get to the lookout and back - no problem. Off we set, dressed very inappropriately - flip flops and skirt (Nic, not me - as you probably know, I don't do skirts!) and no water at all between us. The gentle stroll we had planned turned out to be more like a step aerobics class and we were both dripping when we got to the lookout - but I need the exercise, I just wish I'd worn my trainers. Once Nic had done her boat adventure we got back in our little van and headed off to find a site for the night. We found a lovely small site, which had only about 12 plots, as well as very clean toilets, showers and kitchen. We were right near Waipe Cove on Bream Bay and had some wine and our staple tuna nicoise salad, before heading to our beds. S xx
