hi Guys
we arrived in Laos last night, so far i just LOVE it. got to the airport and the border control man was so lovely chatting away and he said 'you're going to have a lot of fun in Laos' and i well beleive him. in the plane all you could see when we arrived before landing was greeenery. so beautiful it seems very different to vietnam its chilled, quiet, calm and everyone seems so happy. we went to a lovely restuaramt last night where i could get 640ml beers so i was happy haha. its shame our room aircon was losing so much water so no aircon for us last night it wasthe hottest night in history and the room had spiders!! nice. hopefully no more spider bites for me(i got one in Ho Chi Minh City). so far none! we're heading to a new town soon its a 4 hour drive sweet. i think we have a real luxury bus too not like the usual kind. Vientiane is the paris version of Laos but its quite unfinished been to their version of the Effiel tower today which was cool. its def the hottest place weve been so far. so much sweating going on. Peter keeps sitting with his belly out how lovely and hairy! We went on a Tuk Tuk ride round to the temples and our driver was super cool. all the people we've met so far have been amazingly nice. In vietnam its a bit like 'look at that white person' in certain places. im hoping the rest of Laos is like here as i think i could have stayed her longer as its a fly by visit. in one of the temples the monks were havng so much fun for us, pulling each ther accross the temple on their robes! hillarious!! JanineRandom has been showing the hotel staff here all of her amazing dance moves and they now think she is crazy. we know she is crazy so its funny. there is no coolness here its crazy!! the flight yesterday was really comfy too no eas jet here! airport times were sad though as my Roomie Stef has finished her part of the trip so she left for home and Elisabeth has also now left. Im def going to miss them loads! especially Stef!! she was my dream roomie as she was as untidy as me. i now share with Anna a german girl i think she might not be used to the mess she is about to encounter! on our last night in Hanoi we went out for a lovely hello to our new aussie couple and goodbye to Stef and Elisabeth. we then went and had a bit of a dance and beers with the obligatory jagerbombs which are so needed here for the redbull in them as we are continuously shattered from the heat and travelling!! the place also had laughing gas whic was amazing to watch peoples reactions from it!! i also forgot to explain that the day we arrived in Hanoi me and Stef checked in and found a HUGE cockroach straight away on the floor which we dont deal with very well. She threw the hotel book on it and i jumped on the book - teamwork or what! it was boilin so i put aircom and guess what a cockroach fell out!! then so did another one sad face indeed. we were freaking out so much Janine heard us from her room and came and rexcused us. not. she mainly laughed. so we decided we had to changed rooms so we went back to reception meanwhile i had seen another one in the room as i was locking the door. urgh!! i could not have slept there it was manky and it stuck really bad. sick. our new room smelled of poo at first but then it seemed to go away thank god and no bugs!! yay!
so much cockroach drama!! its ok when you get a gekko in your room as they are good but insects and cockroaches are never a good sign!!
anyways people i will be offski now as much do to before we head off on to our next bus. lylt xxxxxx
