Left Ko Phi Phi at 2 Thai time and while on the ferry Gav met a nice Thai bloke and managed to sweet talk him into giving us a free taxi ride to Long Beach, a beautiful place and as the name suggests its a long beach! Checked into a wood hut on the beach and had a walk along the beach and bought a frisbee to amuse ourselves for the afternoon as well as having a dip in the sea.
In the evening we went to a beach bar and had a games night consisting of cards, darts and jenga with the waitresses.
Went for an early morning swim in the clear waters of the Andaman Sea and then caught a tuk tuk stylee moped to another beach of Khlong Khlong beach in search of new accomodation for the evening. Checked out a number of resorts and found a lovely little number that was truelly original. All the huts were individually styled and was in a wonderful tranquil setting. The hut we chose had a hammock out the front and a chair on the roof (as seen in the pics) and a shower open to the elements which came equipped with live frogs!
The staff there - Kun, O and Lap - were awesome and really helpful blokes who spoke really good English and knew a lot about Premiership football. In the evening we were the only people at the bar so chatted away to them for a good few hours and drank them out of Singha - which is why they probably liked us! Also got talking to an English bloke called Steve who had been living there for a few months and ironically his brother lives in Biggleswade! After sinking a few more beers we fancied a boogie so Lap said he'd take us to a local pub/club full of chicks. We thought maybe he'd take us in a car but no it was on the back of his moped!! The roads are absolute poo, full of potholes and sometimes just sand but being the wrong side of p*ssed we hopped on for a 10 minute white knuckle ride! Top night overall and we made it home in one piece - just!
Next day, after a druken food binge at 4am, Gav awoke first to find that the crisps he had left open in the bed were being carried away by an army of ants and quite a few of the little b*****s and found there way up somewhere where the sun doesnt shine very often! Chris was untouched because he had polished off all his food - no surprise there then! Chris got over his fuzy head by topping up his sun burn, while Gav went out to sea on Kuns kayak. Gav was having the time of his life until Chris decided to spoil his fun by capsizing the kayak with his fat a*se!
Unfortunately it was time to leave the totally chilled out resort which was by far the best we've stayed in, and now on to Ko Lipe...............
