Woke up with a horrible cold: nose and sinuses completely stuffed. Felt kinda miserable until I took a shower under the rain shower-head. Spent the morning working on my paper again, but not for long. Just before lunch we went to go see The Ducks. My mum had told me (and shown me pictures) of the ducks she wanted me to see. But you don't really know what it's like until you've been there and seen the ducks first hand. There's over a hundred ducks all in one place. And they aaaaallll come by when you park and bring out your bag of Quacked Corn (corn pieces - way better for ducks than bread). Of course, because it's beautiful weather and I firmly believe Victoria is a all-season flip-flop weather place, I was wearing sandals to go see the ducks. I got my toes stepped on by lots of ducks. We were completely swarmed by them. And not just the regular mallards, but also the beautiful wood ducks.
After being throughly mauled by ducks, we drove out to Mattick's Farm for high tea. Saw a triple (quadruple?) rainbow on the way out through the farmland and even saw the 'end' of the rainbow. We first went to Adrienne's farm for high tea because I had complained to my Mum a few months back about never having high tea in Victoria, even though it's one of their 'things'. We got Lady Grey tea, and the tea platter was HUGE. It was more than just a small 'tea', even more than a lunch would probably be. Little sandwiches with crusts cut off, tarts, rum balls, marzipan bread, quiche, fruit, and big scones with fresh jam and cream. It was so lovely, but I'm glad we shared between three people.
After that, we went into the little shops around there. My Mum had apparently forgotten to get me my usual Christmas ornament, so we went looking for one for this year. We went into a few stores, including an art gallery type thing. We eventually found a beautiful glass hummingbird because of the hummingbirds at the patio door feeder. The afternoon was for a short nap, and then supper later, and then I worked on my paper until I was finally finished writing. For a bit of a present to myself, I spent a little while finishing a coloured pencil flower I've had for a while. It was nice to go to bed after all of that.
