Sapa Day One ...
Sapa is a built up quirky little town but just outside is all the Minority people's villages! Also the place is surrounded by rice fields.
Did you know rice is grown in mucky water and is encased in a stem, and the stem grows up the leaf, then when you pierce it open you all the rice is on a bunch like a bunch of grapes!
We went to Catcat village this morning, it was an easy 6km round trip and interesting to see.
This pm was free time, so eight of us decided to risk out lives and hire mopeds. It was ridiculously cheap, under £3 for the day and half a tank of petrol was less than £1.10.... Why does the UK have to be so expensive??!!
We went to see a waterfall and then stumbled over a view point which was completely covered in fog. We played with some local children that were there trying to sell souvenirs with there mum and grandma, and as we were about to leave, the fog opened and the view was immense :-) 30 seconds later it was gone again :-) we were very lucky to see it.
The food in the hotel is so nice and the shower is full of heat and power, and another private room and double bed for me tonight :-) little things...
