Today we strolled around Ho Chi Minh City and apart from the little mugging incident it was very touristy and informative day.
We went to the Reunification Palace, Old Post Office, Norte Dame Cathedral, President Ho Chi Minh statue and The War Remnants Museum.
The war museum was so hard hitting, the pictures didn't hold back anything, and told the full story of the war and the effect the Americans had. I did not agree with some of the things, especially the torturing and the use of agent orange, but I watched a film later in the evening of the US in Vietnam and it became understandable why they used such clear up techniques, as the Vietnamese were so strong and deceiving the Americans didn't know who they could trust.
The lady in the picture here cooks this amazing dish, fried rice flour. She was a little street vender and sat us down and gave us a cooking class on how to make it all :-) then she tried to charge me twice as she couldn't remember that I paid before I ate... I think we left as friends as I promised to go back tomorrow :)
