June 10: Day 36:
This morning I woke up to what sounded like a battle of the birds, it sounded like crows and galahs that were just flying over our heads screeching like they had broken a bone. Today we did a walk through the Manning Gorge, and it took us 1 and a half hours to get to the waterfall. It was a track that just went up and down and was really rocky as well. But our tiring walk was definitely worth it because the waterfall was so, so pretty and also looked really strong. We waded in and it was quite cold but we got used to it. Dad took us over to the weakest part of the waterfall and it still felt like hailstones, and when we went through the middle of the weak part you kind of went temporarily blind. Then a man walked up into the bush were his mates were using a stick to hit a snake so he went up to pick it up? He walked back down to his camera and that was when Cam and I went up to ask the man if we could touch it. He let us and told us it was a Golden Tree Snake and told Cam us that he worked with snakes. Dad took Stu and I through the strong part of the waterfall and Stuey had a noodle to hold onto. The water was pushing me down so much I went under water for a second but pushed myself back up. Then we had Lunch and after it something fun was coming -we were able to jump off the Waterfall! Dad went first just to check if it was ok. So we jumped off and I stupidly jumped up so it felt like I was a metre higher. Then we had to walk back in the sun’s heat and we had another swim in the lake. Cam and I had a bit of sun stroke and got out earlier and had a shower. Then we sat down to have a yummy meatball dinner.
