We left Auckland an hour later than we planed. Not that it mattered.

The drive didn’t take that long, the best part was a section of road called desert road although not desert like. lots of plants, trees and mountains.

We arrived at Taupo around 6o’clock.put up the tent and set up our little gas burner (I got quite excited at the prospect of food) any woo we cooked off some pork stkes that Emily’s mum had given us! There is only one thing to say about them “YUMMMY”, we also had rice and veg. Just in case you were wondering.

After dinner we went for a bit of an explore around the camp site an found a kitchen free to use I was a little bit gutted about this as we had bought a burner! We also found a hot spa (also free) all of the above is included in the camping price for 2 of us £12. the best bit of all has to be that we had the place to our selves.

We started the next day (4th)with a hot spa before packing up and heading for Wellington the windy city and political capital of nz.
