An overnight train from croatia had brought me to Serbia i had toyed with the idea of visiting sarajevo as well but the trains are anabsolute nightmare in this region. anyway with a new coutry there was no let up as far as the temperature went if anything it was even hotter. i arrived at my hostel about 7am and immediatly found out that onle 1 other person was staying and she was asleep. the hostel only opened in December but despite it being a really nice place Belgrade just doesn't many visitors.

Boyed by this good news i headed off to explore. its an odd city a nice mix of old and new. with a huge number of bombed office building with huge holes in the middle of them. (the police weren't too keen to lat me take photos of these) Any spent 2 days in the city it has a nice old castle and an odd military museum featuring wreckage from a us plane shot down in 99.. it was also my first taste of the Danube (not literally of course) i will follow its route for the next week or so. after two days in the city it was time for another night train this time to Budapest.
