Herro peeps,
Celebrated Tim's 32nd birthday today at a little log cabin in the Atlantic Rainforest....with a tasty BBQ feast of chicken, sweetcorn and burnt onion followed by delicious chocolate cake. Even had magic relighting candles!
We got here a couple of days ago after riding the Cloud Train from Curitiba to Morettes which takes three hours through dense forest along a track 900 metres high. Pretty impressive views!
Morettes is a tiny town so instead of staying there we climbed into a battered old car with no door handles to head to some cabins in the forest with the very friendly owner who arrived here 13 years ago and never left! They were just three cabins in the jungle and her family, it was so relaxing and quiet.....and the breakfast was the finest we've had since being in S America!
On one day we hired mountain bikes and cycled 7km to the next town Antonina along a road lined by massive mountains....we are just such outdoorsy types these days! Later we got caught trying in a very un-scout like fashion to light the BBQ using wet wood and leaves, luckily owner Nicholas stepped in to save any further embarrassment and got it all going so we could cook our bangers!
Headed back to Curitiba, which is an odd place with no restaurants or bars just a massive Western style shopping mall, to catch our overnight bus to Foz Do Iguacu to check out the famous falls......x
