Spent just three days in Buenos Aires after the woman at the tour office put the fear of god into us and told us to get our arses to Patagonia now before the big freeze!! So spent most of our time trying on wooolly jumpers, hiking boots and long johns for the cold snap ahead! Also the rain followed us from Rosario and it rained non-stop....but luckily we could hang out in our beautiful converted hostel with a marble circular stairway and old metal lift going up the centre of the building......In between getting drenched and buying clothes we had some fab meals.....on our first night we had a massive craving for curry and ventured far from the safety of our hostel in search of the only Indian restaurant in town which turned out to be a super-posh Italian slash Indian fusion place......we bowled in anyway ignoring the obvious disdain at our dirty clothes and Tim repeatedly tripping over his broken flipflop. After a few false starts and a waiter insistant on serving us shrimps we finally tucked into a pretty mean curry....top posh nosh!
Also enjoyed the delights of a BBQ Parilla....had planned on sharing the meat special but spotted the English translation and decided we didn't much fancy sweetmeats, cow glands, small intestines, veal tripe or blood sausage...so plumped for a good ole fashioned steak and fritas instead!!
Headed out on our last night to savour the delights of a Tango show but it was fully booked so we somehow ended up in a heavy metal bar surrounded by goths and Homer Simpson models!
Now onwards to Puerto Madryn for some serious Orca hunting and the freeing of Willy......xx
