Hi ya Guys!

Just thought I would update you on my situation in Cairns. I didnt end up getting that job in the hostel so erase that from your memories! I was so annoyed with the people that offered me so I went into town and went into loads of places and asked for jobs. Same story different place....nothing available come back in a week!! Boring! Went into an internet room with some people staying at the same hostel as me and I saw an advert for a hostess on a saling boat that goes out to the barrier reef. I really wanted to do this all along, I mean who wouldnt.

To cut a long story short they asked me to some along for a trial just to see how I would get on and if I could do the job. It was awesome!!! You look after all the guests (max 11) and cook them breakfast lunch and dinner thats basically the main part of the job. Its easy and really good fun. I love cooking in the small Galley lol and the girl left me to do it on my own. Everyone ate the dinner though so that was good! It was so much fun, we had free booze as we sat and played with games with the guests, mainly ppl with lots of money (good tips I hope!).

So I got the job they told me when we got back to shore woohoo!!! So I get paid about $300 dollars a week to sit on a boat and cook, I get free dives including a license to dive in open water, awesome and I get to be on the barrier reef everyday bar Fridays and see all the lovely marine life, including !!!! Im soooooo happy. Its really not like a job most of the time. The owners of the boat are really chilled out etc. The only part im worred about is the sailing but I will get there soon enough.

I have found a room to rent aswell, the girl whose job im taking over says I can have hers as she leaves on Monday so thats cool. Ah so glad I didnt go for that job at the hostel lol....

So there we go, back on the boat on Monday! Cant wait!
