So, today we started by going to the far side of the park (south) we went to the discovery centre which was essentially like a museum. It had a huge exhibit about the geology of the park and big exhibits about indeginous and other things. It also has beutiful views over the bay.
From there we went to the Tablelands. It is a place where the earth's mantle (centre of the earth is exposed). There are tons of toxic minerals in the earth at that layer so nothing grows there. It had a dusty yellow kind of look to it all. We saw some large picture plants (eat flies, so, doesnt really rely on the earth). And it was hot. It was very hot. So it was only a few kms long of a hike but we were both covered in sweat and drained when we got back to the car.
We then drove past the tablelands and had a picnic lunch in our car in a little harbour on the other side of those mountiains. It was somewhat cool there. So that was good. From there we drove back into the national park and explored woody point (the village on the south side of the park). We stopped and had a coffee in a lovely little shop with chairs out on the deck/jetty overlooking the bay and we could see clearly acrossed to our camper that would take us more than an hour to drive to.
On the drive back we stopped in lotts of little look offs and sign boards and even took a short hike to a waterfall. Unfortunately you only get to see the waterfall from the top so it was not as impressive looking as it likely was.
