Well, the inevitable happened. I got sick. Not too bad though. I'm not bed-ridden for a few days. Its just a cold. Thanks goodness I dont have any pooping problems as well, because a fever and diarria mean something really bad. Apparently the Peace Corps is all about talking about poop. If you are really sick for days, they want you to send a stool sample so they can see what kind of bacteria/virus/parasite you have. The current volunteers say they have done/heard some funny ways of collecting their own stool samples.
My spanish is getting a little bit better. After only a week of being here, I can already see a huge improvement. Which is good, because at week four, we are going to have another interview/placement test for spanish.
On sunday, I didnt get a chance to hike any mountains, but I did play soccer and basketball for two hours. Those little Peruvian boys really know how to play! Though I kept up with them ok. I am just out of shape, it seems like. Thats all for now! I have to stand in the dirt road infront of my house so my spanish class knows where it is. Three days a week, we meet at eachother's houses. This week it is my house. Next week is my next door neighbor, who is also a Water and Sanitation (WatSan) volunteer.
Happy Travels!
