Hey everyone!
I am in Huascaran, an hour outside of Lima. Things are pretty hectic and new here. I met my host family for the time I am in training, meaning for the next three months. They are a family of four, a father who is a professor for civil engineering, a mother who is a professor for technical degrees, a daughter who is 16 and wants to be a civil engineer and another daughter who is 11 and doesnt want to be an engineer. Its interesting that they are so much like my family!!
As for training, I go to "school" every day at 8 and return at 5pm. My mother makes me a lunch and puts in in a lunch box. Just like when I was little. She also knocked on my door this morning to wake me up. I walk down the dusty street wo the next house, in which another volunteer is in, and we walk to school together. There are 13 of us who live in this community, so we all walk to school together. Or at seperate times depending on who is late.
