We arrived in Bodrum by bus at about 10am. (On the drive down the views were beautiful of the water and the bus was stopped by police and everyone else's ID got checked.) Our room wasn't ready at the hotel yet so we enjoyed a second breakfast with a lot of options at the buffet. More hot food especially - Scrambled eggs, Frankfurt's in tomato sauce, capsicum and bacon mix, pastry filled with a crumbled white cheese. And there was some cake, it was ok.
The pool at the hotel was great and the view of Bodrum's city centre was fantastic. We relaxed by the pool for most of the day enjoying a swim. Sean also had a massage by a very large Turkish woman. She came to our room. Sean told me the story - he laid down on the table face down and straight away the lady ripped his jocks down, "you don't need these, better for you this way," she told him. Sean was shocked. Hahaha. She massaged everywhere but his belly and 'downstairs.'
For dinner I googled the number one restaurant on trip-advisor and found OX. A burger and wine bar. Reviews stated it was the best burger they'd had in their whole entire life and although it was our last night in Turkey we went. The reviews did not lie! So juicy and the bun was so soft and fresh. It really did melt in your mouth even though the fillings were few. We both had cheese and 150g meat patties, even though there was the option for 300g. I had caramelised onion and Sean had bacon. My fries were cooked in truffle oil and parmesan cheese served with a truffle aioli. Luckily Sean didn't like them but I did.
We walked back up a very steep hill to the hotel and I took about 50 postcard pictures at sunset. I even had a nice young Turkish man near the bar ask, "sir, sir (to me) can I take a picture." I shook my head, 'no thank you,' I said (I was taking the pictures here. A professional. Even though I know he was offering to take one of me.)
The English at this hotel wasn't the best we'd found. Trying to ask for conditioner produced shower gel and shower caps and 'yes I do understand,' but obviously not. The view made up for everything.
