We walked around Istanbul today. Checking out museums, mosques and markets. So many locals and tourists around. Cars filling the narrow streets and fast driving taxis. Many options for a quick stop to buy take away kebabs, different flavoured baklava (I tried 6 today, double walnut was my fav) freshly squeezed juices. Every restauranteur you lock eye contact with is "welcoming" you to take a seat at their "finest" table.
The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is one of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world, with 61 covered streets and over 3,000 shops which attract between 250,000 and 400,000 visitors daily. We didn't buy a thing.
