Ephesus, located in Selcuk (pronounced cell-check,) was an ancient Greek city, and later a major Roman city. We spent two hours here with our tour guide, the same one from yesterday, looking through the fallen down city.
The Theatre was massive and the library tall. It's amazing how much original pieces remain. The theatre for example, just the six bottom steps are original marble, the rest have been recreated by the archeologists to give the effect to visitors, and there was hundreds there today.
After that we checked out Virgin Mary's House. It was a peaceful place and we felt calm. Then we saw carpets getting made. Amazing how fast some of the ladies can do it. We were presented with 20-30 different carpets being laid out in front of us to look at - whilst we sipped our tea. The silk carpets were just lovely. Then "the leather factory." Very fancy. We were treated to a fashion parade - whilst sipping our tea. The music was loud and I chuckled to myself. Then we looked through some of the jackets. $1,200 Euro they were. But because the factory is just new, we could receive 50% discount. 2 people in our group made a purchase. They bartered down to about $450-500.
