We caught a tour bus to Gallipoli from our hotel at 6.30am. We had stops along the way as the journey was long. We all closed our eyes until 9am for our Turkish breakfast at a pit-stop. We were entertained with the movie Troy. We had a toilet break at a mini zoo. Chickens, Roosters (one multicoloured including shiny gold!) Turkey, Peacock, Sheep, Pony, Dogs... (Including a Rottweiler with a tail). Then as we arrived at port we had Turkish lunch (pictures of 4-course) at a hotel which is where we'd spend the night.
We started at Brighton Beach with one of the cemeteries. Then Anzac Cove. The whole peninsula was being setting up with seating, lightings etc for the 25th. Our tour guide talked of the sphinx and knew how many men died here and there and from which country. Back in our 16-seater bus we travelled up to more cemeteries and sites like Lone Pine etc. Our guide was very enthusiastic. We got the feeling he could talk all day. We were back at the hotel by 5.30pm.
We rested in our room in Acebat and then walked out along the water to choose from many restaurants. Dinner was delicious and only 24 Turkish money ($15AUS).
