The Bosphorus, also known as the Istanbul Strait, is a strait that forms part of the boundary between Europe and Asia.
We booked a night cruise that started by the Golden Horn, which surrounds the Old City on the north side. During the cruise, drinks (vodka cocktails) and buffet dinner of grilled meat balls, chicken shish kebab, salads and bowls of sauces (which were like dips) were all included.
As well as entertainment:
A magician, Katibim (a traditional Turkish melody musical performance), Asuk Masuk Show (an imitation play of dwarfs) - it's performed by two men which are called Asuk & Masuk where a man (asuk) & a woman (masuk) have faces drawn on their bellies. They apparently perform the love between man & woman but it's actually quite funny. They were hitting each other when they weren't looking. You can YouTube it. A belly dancer, a Henna ceremony (the most important and colourful part of Wedding rituals) and traditional Turkish dances, both romantic and folk.
The inside lights on the 150pax boat would dim and we could see the lights and picturesque view of Istanbul. Dancing would end the night with Top 40 dance-pop and it all started with the young slim belly dancer with the very long straight dark hair. She was trying so hard to entice people throughout her show to dance (to Turkish belly dancing music) with her and most refused. I don't think it was because you had to tip her, but more because she was quite good, young, and not wearing much at all. A middle eastern man jumped at the chance to wiggle his hips and throw his hands in the air with her. He got quite excited when she insisted he take of his parker-jacket. He continued to dance as he did so hahaha. This was also the same man that was dancing with a young guest on the boat at the end of the night. I think the belly dancers show fuelled her with confidence as she too had long straight hair that would whip round as she turned. No one else was dancing and she thrived on the attention, dancing up and down the boat, getting into the beat, and whipping her hair as she turned. I think the middle eastern man was walking past her from the WC (water closet (toilet)) and as he did she must have shimmied him with unintentional encouragement, so he stayed and danced. Boy was it funny. He was thinking, this is awesome, a hot young chic, and she was thinking, ah well... Her back was turned to him most of the time as she danced up and down the boat, but he didn't care, he followed. He would bend his knees up and down, almost on a lean as he got into it, leaning back, wiggling his hips with his hands in the air and a smile on his face. We were laughing out loud.

jane I take it there was no dancing by the Lovass's! Too bad, you both have so much hair to swirl around!
