Day 13 - Yulara
Today was an early morning so we could watch the sunrise at the viewing area at Uluru. We were at the gates into the NP when they opened at 6:30am and drove to the viewing area. It was dark and freezing cold but we enjoyed the sunrise and looking at Uluru. Following sunrise we drove to the Mala carpark to see if the climb was opened. It was opened and Bronte was desperate to get to the top this time. So off Bronte and Rog went and this time Bronte got up the chain very quickly. I lost sight of them as Josh was desperate to join them but I said no so he was just walking up and down the rock in front of me. We then waited in the car and I was so pleased to receive a phone call from Bronte to say she made it to the top. She was very determined and it paid off. Mum & dad came and met us at Uluru and were able to seem Bronte and Rog walk down. We got some photos and then Bronte went with mum & dad so Rog, Josh & I could ride around the 10km base of Uluru. It was lots of fun and just amazing to see all the different aspects of the rock. We were all exhausted by the end so we went back to the campground for lunch, showers and to do some washing. The kids were desperate to go to the park and play mini golf again so off we went. We then drove into the Cultural Centre for a quick look around and so the kids could both buy a souvenir. Bronte got some music sticks and Josh got a magnet. We then went to the Sunset viewing area at Uluru and had some drinks & nibbles while we waited to watch the sunset. We thought it was much better than the sunrise. It was then time to get back to the campground for schnitzel wraps, showers and bed. The kids were exhausted and fell asleep very quickly.
