Today we left the North Island, and arrived after a bit of a choppy crossing, in an even wetter South Island. I think everyone was half expecting to be arriving into a winter wonderland with snow everywhere- but sadly it was just heavier rain that greeted us in Picton. We seemed to spend most of the day on the coach- making quick dashes for food and loo stops. We then arrived in Nelson- at a gorgeous old pub style hostal. It was so cosy with a log fire and pet dog Bella to greet us! She wasn't a match for pheebs, but was so nice to have a dog around ha ha. We headed into town to check out the shops- it was really pretty, very small but a really lovely place! I think we would all have quite happilystayed there for another night- sooooooo tired moving on everyday!!!
