Tasha's Travels
Hi Everyone
I'm back in Queenstown for the day after completeing the bottom bus trip. It was absolutely freezing, with some extreme weather conditions!
After very little sleep from the last night with all our group- and a fair few tears later, we got on our bright green bus complete with trailor to head further south!
We headed straight to Dunedin and we arrived about 1.30 into quite a bustling town, with lots of students. We took a visit to the steepest road, which is famous for is running races and the jaffa race where they throw a jaffa ( a red coated chocolate ball) and race them to the bottom of the road. We also took a trip to the one of the highest points to get some great views over the town.
That afternoon we did the ultimate touristy thing- a cadbury's factory tour! It was quite child oriented with lots of quiz's and colourful signs everywhere and all the staff wore dungarees and bright uniforms. Once we had our hair nets in place.... and had our bag for the free chocs we'd get on the way round, our guide took us through various parts of the factory with the zombie staff members working on the conveyor belts and packaging up easter eggs for next year. It was a way to kill the afternoon............ but i was quite gutted not to see a chocolate river or a cat suited oompa loompa!! We did however get 8 free chocolate bars- although New Zealand cadbury's taste more like cooking chocolate- so nots so good!
We had a quick mooch round the shops which were limited although trendier than other cities, but we were all flagging from only having a couple of hours sleep the nght before so we crashed out.
The Next day we headed for Curio Bay!
