Tasha's Travels
River Valley is one of the prettiest places i have seen yet. Our hostal was this lodge in teh middle of the valley with the river flowing right alongside. As soon as we arrived we headed straight out to go on a horse trek.
I have never even sat on a horse before, but most of you know that i have always loved horses and wanted to ride one. I was given Chestnut, who was gorgeous tan brown. Jenny our guide said he was a chubby horse who just likes to eat a lot and hang out at the back of the group- which suited me fine as a total beginner. We had beautiful blue sky and sunshine, as we crossed over the most stunning farm land with herds of deer and sheep and cows scattered across lush hills. Chestnut was a bit keen to stop and eat..........more often than walk, and i didn't like to yank or kick him, but i eventually got a bit more control over him and got him to keep up pace with the others. It was fantastic, and i even ran up a hill at one point- although it wasn't planned and i very nearly fell off! But definitely a high point of the trip- along with sky diving. I'm developing some very expensive hobbies!!!
After a very yummy roast dinner in the Valley, and plenty of wine, we all piled into the log cabins ready for Wellington in the morning!
