Tanya and Claudia's take on the World
Bournemouth October2013
Our road trip to Bournemouth began with a friendly wager, so we all set off trying to beat the traffic in the hopes of arriving first at our final destination. Tanya and I were with Jay in her Polo and Emma and Natalie were with Suzanne in her Audi. Let's face it, we all knew who would be buying the first round. With Bashment tunes getting us in the mood, we arrived in Bournemouth and to our amazement we won the bet. We checked into our hotel and after a quick change, we met up with Tracey and Asinetta for a few drinks before dinner in a Chinese restaurant. The food was delicious and plentiful and we greedily consumed more than what was probably wise. With our bellies full we practically rolled down the hill to find a club where we could dance off some calories. We ended up at Cameo and had a fantastic time busting some shapes on the dance floor. The R&B room was quite an eye opener and felt like a sauna, with hot sweaty bodies grinding and twerking to their hearts content. We returned to our hotel in the wee hours of the morning and all fell into bed with ringing ears and intoxicated smiles. It had been a really fun night, but not surprisingly the morning brought with it the usual cotton wool head and hang over blues. After a very greasy fry up we hit the road for a day trip to Poole. We spent a very relaxing day, walking around the quaint town, having a look at the shops and of course purchasing some of the famous pottery that the area is known for. As it was also Halloween we just had to play dress up in one of the local pound shops. So with scary masks covering our faces and the "running man" routine performed by Jay, we were ready for our photo shoot. In fits of laughter we left the shop, leaving the perplexed shop assistant shaking his head. Back in Bournemouth, we spent a few hours relaxing and getting ready for our last night on the tiles. Jay, Tanya and I did a quick a quick u-tube tutorial on how to create the cat eye look and after a brave attempt and with our fake eyelashes glued firmly in place, we were ready. We had dinner at an Italian restaurant to line our stomachs for the night ahead. While toasting with a glass of prosecco, a fellow diner decided it would be appropriate to pull down his pants right by our table. Gobsmacked, we all looked at each other wondering if we had somehow tumbled into the twilight zone. We thought that he might be part of a stag do and this was possibly a dare but it turns out that he was just a lone ranger who clearly had one too many beverages. After an eventful dinner, we made our way to Cameo night club for a Halloween experience. Ushered in by the bride of Frankenstein and followed around by evil eyed zombies, we boogied our way from dance floor to dance floor until the early hours of the morning. Noisily and full of laughter we got back to our hotel, making a pact that our girly weekends would become a regular fixture. The next morning we said our goodbyes and made our way back to London. En route Jay, Tanya and I decided to grab a bite to eat where we could dissect the weekend and have a laugh at our antics. We had such a fun trip and couldn't wait for our next adventure.
