Spent the morning in Wellington before making our way to Whakapapa Village.
Went to Weta caves where they make characters for Lord of the Rings and other films. It was wasted on me as I'm either not a fan or I haven't seen the films. Plus couldn't understand a thing when they were showing a film about how they make the characters and how the films were produced.
Luckily we weren't there for too long.
Went to Mount Victoria (I think that's the name, not sure!) where we could see the whole of Wellington. Took photos.
Had a couple of hours to spare so some of us went to Te Papa museum, the most recommended museum to visit in Wellington. It was massive and pretty interesting.
Walked around Wellington for a bit before going to the supermarket to buy lunch for tomorrow as there's nothing for lunch apart from one or two cafés. When I was walking back to the coach it started pouring down so I got soaked! So we definitely left Wellington at the right time despite it being early!
It took about four hours to get to Whakapapa Village. Slept most of the way. It's tiring travelling lol! I have much more energy when I'm moving about for sure!
It started snowing when we got nearer. It's covered in snow here. It was the first time for many Australians to see snow so obviously they were very excited lol! Bless them. Didn't think I'd ever be seeing snow in July!
Had a lovely meal, roast lamb and chocolate mud cake for pudding which was so yummy.
It's absolutely freezing here, wearing my thermals to bed once again!
