An early start as always! Grabbed some breakfast before making our way out of Queenstown :( will miss this place!
Stopped at Te Anau, where we're staying for the night, for a break before continuing to Milford Sound. Stopped at the Mirror Lake for photos.you could see the reflection of the mountains on the lake. In fact all the lakes in New Zealand that I've seen so far have been so clear and still that you can see reflections in them.
Drove through a mountain, literally, via the Homer Tunnel.
Plenty of photo stops after, amazing scenery as always, it's endless!
Got to Milford Sound in time for our cruise. It was cold but wrapped up warm. Had our lunch on the boat whilst admiring the views which were amazing! Saw some small waterfalls. There were bottlenose dolphins which were too quick for me to take a decent photo. I only got half of a dolphin jumping. Evidently I have a slow reaction!
Saw fur seals as well. A lot easier to take photos of lol!
The boat nudged into waterfalls, and some people were crazy enough to stand under them and get soaked! Not me, I'm too much of a wimp or just sensible!
It got quite rough towards the end so it was impossible to stand without moving about! Couldn't wait to get off as it went on for a bit too long especially as it was freezing. A cold and rainy day.
I was so glad to be back on a warm coach lol! Made our way back to Te Anau where we checked into our hotel. I've managed to get my own room! So nice and big with a double bed to myself :D
Went out for dinner with some others where I tried the local Fiordland venison which was so nice! Something new as I've never had venison before.
Stayed for a few drinks as there was a band playing which apparently wasn't very good!
