I went to the Horseshoe Ranch to do my bush and beach horse ride. There were five of us on the ride and we started by walking and then because I said that I had riding experience they let me canter through the forest. It was really good fun and I had a really good horse called Bungy. He was really clever and knew when to slow down or turn as he knew the route really well. When we got to the beach we stripped down to our bathers and rode the horses without the saddles on hodling onto the mane to stay on. It was quite tricky to stay upright with the waves hitting you and the horse and unbalancing you but I managed not to come off!
On the way back we trotted and walked back. It was a really fun two hour ride. When I got back to the dorm one of the Canadian girls who had checked in the night before asked if I wanted to go snorkelling with her and a group of them and I said yes. We went to the reception area to get our snorkelling gear which was free for us to use because of the package we'd paid for. I introduced myself the two guys and then one of the girls recognised me from the surfing lesson that I did in Byron Bay as I'd sat next to her on the bus and had got on really well with. The six of us headed to Florence Bay, which was a 45 minute walk away. Hilary and I went snorkelling but we couldn't really see anything apart from a few fish. We then went and joined the others and sunbathed and chatted. On the walk back we saw a few dingoes and kangaroos in the wild.
I went back to the room to wait for Mel and Rachel to arrive and then about 6pm I went and asked reception if they'd checked in but they hadn't and just as I was walking back to the room I checked the bus that had just arrived to see if they were on it and they were. It turned out that they were in the same room as me too which was really cool. We ent to the bar as it was ladies night and ordered 241 cocktails and a pizza. Then we went to get ready for the party and I had a jug of punch which I drank through a straw and had a glass of champagne too. Mel and Rachel had bought a few things for the party for us to wear: Mel was a zombie and Mel and I had some sequin masks and we all had glow sticks to wear.
At 10:40pm we got the bus to Base and the bus was full of people dressed up and not and everyone was in really good spirits, or full of them rather! We had just got to the bar when Stu and Brent from the ferry came and said hi. Apparently they had just said to each other "I wonder if we'll see Suze" and then had decided that it was highly unlikely as there was 2,000 people and then they'd spotted me at the bar. We all hung out together and I danced with them both and ended up kissing Stu. They are both from Belfast but Stu has been living in Sydney for the past couple of years and both are nice guys who are a real laugh and are 29 and 30. I had expected the party to be on the beach but disappointingly it was just in the bar of the hostel and there wasn't any exciting fireworks or entertainment, but it was still fun as lots of people were having fun.
Feeling a bit tipsy I decided to start sliding down one of the hand rails to the stairs and was merrily dancing. Mel and Rachel were really tired after their bus journey so they decided to call it a night at 2:30am but I decided to stay up with the boys as I was having fun. Just before 5am I decided to try and get a bus back but despite being told that they would still going to be running one didn't turn up so the boys said that they would sleep on the floor and I could have their bed so they sneaked me past the bouncer as I pretended to have a coughing fit (which wasn't too difficult to act as I had been having a few already!). When we got to the room there were people that Stu didn't recognise as even being in their dorm so he had to ask a girl who was in her bed if she could leave.
