We set off for our last journey together to Christchurch. It took us a couple of hours to get there and then everyone had to get off the coach as they were changing buses for the rest of the trip. The bus had stopped just opposite the airport so I waited with Nasreen, Kristina and Gemma for about half an hour to say goodbye. When it came to saying goodbye Nasreen got a bit tearful as we'd travelled together since Auckland over three weeks ago. It was really sad to say goodbye as we'd spent so much time together, but I'm hoping that we will all meet up again.
It felt really strange when everyone had gone as I was on my own. I walked over to the airport and I had about an hour before I could check in so I went and had a look round the shops and managed to get half an hour of free Wifi to entertain myself with. I then booked my hostel in Hong Kong (I'd tried to be organised and book it before but internet access in NZ is very scarce!). Then when I had checked my bag in I went round the shops some more and then when I was sitting in the gate area one of the girls who had been on my Stray bus for some of the trip came over and started chatting to me. She'd been in Christchurch for a couple of days and was going to be on the same flight as me to Sydney. We chatted until we had to board the plane and said our goodbyes as we were different ends of the plane.
The flight to Sydney was three hours and I arrived at 5:30pm NZ time which was 3:30pm Australian time. I then had to wait until 22:15 Oz time for my flight to Hong Kong. Luckily Sydney airport has lots of shops(!) and free internet so I managed to pass the time quite easily.
My flight to Hong Kong was 9 hours so I passed the time by watching The Help, which was a really good film, and then after a salmon dinner I fell asleep and didn't wake up till breakfast was served! Even asleep I'm obviously still thinking about food!
