Day 8 Glasgow I got the photo thing working so I'll try to upload some more photos tonight. Today we went exploring up through the Scottish countryside to Stirling Castle and then to Doune Castle before heading down to Glasgow. Stirling castle was amazing. The views were extensive and you could see up to the highlands and across to the Wallace Monument. Mary Queen of scots lived in the castle before she was shipped off to France. Day 7 Edinburgh Well we have been away for a week now and still enjoying seeing so many new and extraordinary things. This morning we went to Edinburgh Castle. It is quite a huge structure that contains a village within its walls. We stayed for the 1pm firing of the cannon along with thousands of others. Day 6 Edinburgh This morning we set off from Stockton headed for Scotland. There was an air of excitement as we headed up the coast of England sometimes looking out onto the North Sea for miles. We had a look at Holy Island but couldn't get across because of the tide. The causeway is only open during certain times when the tide is low and the tide changes very quickly so you can't take any risks. Day 5 We have just arrived in Middlesborough after a day exploring Heartbeat country. We stopped at Pickering train station also stopped at a Medieval village ruins. It was a bit of a walk to get to but worth it. We had lunch at the Aidensfield Arms and visited the Scripps garage and the Post Office and Railway station. It rained a bit but it was still good.
