Croatia 8th June
Drove thru to this beautiful town and stayed in this lovely campground about 10 mins from the old town. The next day we caught the bus into the old town itself. What an extraordinary place. It's hard to believe that it has been rebuilt numerous times due to earthquakes and the ravages of war. The last being when the Yugoslavs bombed the township in 1992. There is a map in the town which shows all the direct hits from bombs. When you look down on the township you can see the new roofs that have been replaced.
The crowds are just starting to build up here with bus loads of tourists arriving every minute.
Went back to the campground which was situated 10mins walk from a very nice beach called ,believe it or not, Cococabana. Not very Croatian but none the less a very nice spot for a swim and a sun bathe.
We left the next day and continued driving up this fabulous coastline until we found an OK place for a free camp.
Temperatures now in the mid 30's
