The great escape!
Another two days have passed and I still haven't managed to leave Ko Tao. The beauty of this place just sucks you in!
I've heard endless stories of Ko Tao dominating people's trip. I was speaking to a guy last night who came on a trip, started diving, 11 years later he's still here as a dive instructor and married to a lady he met while diving.
My Brazilian friend Gilles is still here too. We went out for a fun dive yesterday which will probably be our last. I have clocked up 11 dives during a 9 night stay, which is pretty intense, but enjoyable all the same.
Staying here for so long meant that I've already managed to meet up with my friends from Menorca (Jesus & Laia). We met up last night and were so pleased to see each other.
They have decided to join Gilles and I in Ko Phan Ngan in search of the full moon party on the 17th.
I've also had some good fun with some Irish girls during my stay here which involved getting married to two of them, getting a polystyrene baby son called led (who unfortunately passed away on his first night out).
Ko Tao is a great place to meet new friends. Everyone has a common interest (diving & partying). I have increased my friend count by about 25 while I've been here. Both divers, dive masters & instructors.
I'm sure I'll certainly return to this island at some point. It's right up there with Ko Chang as one of my favourite places I've been on this trip.
However the task of escaping here is well & truly on (hopefully).
