I think my mother will want to kill me after reading this!

However, this is a travel blog and it's about sharing my experiences. Today I went rode a scooter across the west coast of Ko Chang. "what's the big deal" you may ask. This is the first time I have rode a motorcycle!!

Although the experience was a little frightening at first, once I got going it was one of the most magnificent experiences. "Don't worry mum, I don't want a bike!"

Riding up and down the coast was a real free experience. I got as far as a 60 degree steep hill (going south toward lonely beach). And thats where my bottle ran out (I'm not as stupid as you think after all!

So I turned round and stopped off at various beaches as the sun was beaming and temperatures were soaring above 30 degrees.

I sneaked into a hotel called DEWA, as it had a magnificent private beach and a fantastic swimming pool. I spent around 3 hours basking in the beautiful sunshine. I also swam in the sea and swung on a swing hanging from a palm tree, now that's tropical life for you (although it did have wifi so not that tropical!)

I ventured back to my beachside bungalow and relaxed for another hour or so.

As my hunger began to kick in I picked up the scooter and went for some local delicacies before it went dark (I'm not that brave)

The restaurant I visited was a typical Thai restaurant. I had beef spicy salad and pad thai noodles (I can't get enough of them!!) and to drink I had a watermelon smoothie.

I got back on my scooter and made it safely back to my hotel in one piece. What a fantastic day this has been. A scooter really is a fabulous way to tour the island.

As I type this I'm currently watching the sunset with a bottle of chang. Perfect!!
