Goodbyes don't get any easier!
The last three days have been memorable to say the least. First I should introduce some of the characters I've met.
The two couples on the bus from Krabi who were still around when I checked into Zachary's: Kev & Danielle, poor Kev & his ear troubles and sympathetic Danielle who stayed out till 9:30 am while Kev was cooped up in bed. Love them to bits.
Nicky & Ricky, my sister from another mister & my brother in Law from another w****. Never a dull moment with two scousers!
Dave, my roomie as a result of cost cutting. I've already introduced Jimme the Jock on my previous blog post.
Christian the German who does not want me to tell everyone what he'll be remembered for (whatever happens in Langkawi, stays in Langkawi).
Stephanie & Sophie the two Swiss girls who have since moved on. Irish Tom and his poor missus Fidona who puts up with his reckless but highly entertaining drunkeness!
The first people I've ever met from Khasakstan Saida & Assil. (yes I did wear Kev's Borrat mankini last night!). The two newcomers Michaela & Rocha from Derry.
And finally Zachary the Malay owner & Han the man, the American bar sitter who can! (pictured).
In such a short space of time I don't think I've ever known such a large group bond so quickly. We quickly formed our own family and had three of the most enjoyable days on my trip so far.
Had I not pre booked my flight I'd have certainly extended my stay in Langkawi.
Just to recap the last few days since my previous blog; day 1 we had the most fantastic day by hiring scooters for the day & paid a visit to a stunning waterfall on the north-east of the island. It took us around 2hours to make a half an hour journey thanks to a wrong turn!
The night turned into madness which included skinny dipping in the sea at crazy o'clock!
Day 2; rain + South East Asia = all day drinking. Sam, the Mancunian I met in Ko Phi Phi taught me that rule. I earned myself the reputation & new poker name of "all in". For those that understand poker, calling an "all in" with a 2 & 7 is not advisable. This is exactly what I did & two 7's came out on the flop! Ricky also got his clippers out and turned Jimmy's hair into a Mohawk.
Day 3 (today); the hottest day in Malaysia so far. Slap on the baby oil & soak up the South East Asian sunshine! Saida the crazy fool thought it'd be a good idea to swim to another island. I started the journey with her but decided we were never going to make it so turned back. We ended up sending rescue to stop her from drifting to Indonesia.
Today also consisted of far too many emotional goodbyes. First Nicky & Ricky at 3pm. Then mine at 9ish. Unfortunately I had to leave the troops at the restaurant as I had a plane to catch. After finishing off the goodbyes I began my journey to the airport. As I type this I've discovered my flight is running over an hour late. Very precious time I could have spent with the team.
Hopefully it won't be goodbye forever. I really need to stop meeting great people. I'm running out of love to share & my heart can't take anymore goodbyes ;'(
I love you all guys & safe travelling. Next stop for me; Kuala Lumpur.
