No this accompanying photo is not my own. But we did pass the Ben Nevis Range on our way to Lochness up in Fort Augustus, Scotland.
We bit the bullet and signed up for a 'Wild and Sexy Scotland' tour put on by Haggis Adventures. With our new friend Emily, we piled into a big tour bus and drove for hours up to check out Lochness and the place of the infamous creature, Nessie. Loch we found out is lake in Gaelic.
I was amazed at how large and never ending their lakes appeared to be. We got conned into taking a boat tour of Lochness in a failed attempt to spot the creature of the depths. Basically, it went like this, run into the market and grab some bread, jump on the top deck of a boat, put your hood up as high as you can, because you're going to be wet, freezing, windburned and wondering why you spent the money to take this ride in the first place. Let's just say we could have lived without it, but it was still nice to take closer pictures of the amazing highland landscape.
We did have some of the most hilarious Scottish women as our tour guides, so it did make the long day on the bus plenty worth our time.
