Headed off for the tourist trek on the tram. Got off at Charles Bridge and walked across. I now know why Lonely Planet says to do it early in the morning. We could not believe the amount of people, it was quite scary. Once we got into the old town it didn't get any better. I guess we've been spoilt as apart from Berlin there hasn't been that many people. Walked around and looked at all the sights, really nice place. Only bad bit was in the back of the Jewish Quarter we found ourselves alone on a street and a guy walked next to us very suspiciously. I saw him take something metal from his bag so started to s*** myself as thought it was a knife. Turned out it was a screwdriver and he was waiting for us to get out the way so he could break into cars. Anyway kept wandering and went to the Museum of Communism, very onteresting as the history of the Czech country from WW11 to independance after the Velvet Revolution in 1990. Eventually stopped for drinks about 4.00. Then went on to do a beer tasting thing we found on Trip Adviser. Was really interesting and got to taste 7 different local beers. Best thing was it wasn't just a sip but they gave a full glass of each, (not half litres though). Headed towards home with a young couple from Melbourne that were on the tasting and got lost so stopped for drinks. We thought we'd be the nice mature travellers and bought the poor backpackers a few beers. We remember how it was when we were that age and how much we appreciated it when older people did it for us. They may have been sorry this morning as they had to catch a bus to Berlin at 7.00am and I think we had more than originally planned! Eventually got home and watched the end of closing ceremony.
