Kaz is feeling the stress of my driving so I am doing the blog for today. Well we woke up in our little apartment in the old town of Vilnius and had rye bread with liver pate and cheese for breakfast followed by a coffee at the cafe 30 meters away. It rained overnight so today is a bit cooler and the humidity not quite as intense (that still hasn't stopped Kaz from sweating, how much water can come out of one head, I don't know but it has to be measured in litres...

A bit slow this morning so left it till the last minute to check out. Had coffee and then went to find monastery that girl from hotel had told us about. Don't know if ken the gps was confused or the girl that gave us the address but finished up on a street full of run down apartment buildings, no monastery to be seen anywhere. Set off after coffee to Kaunas, a city that was the capital of Lithuania between the world wars. Arrived about 1.30 and hotel booking was a bit confusing as they were full but they sent us to another one at same price and also very central. Really hot today, about 33 but super humid. Left Riga and went to Jumala, a seaside town about 30minutes away. Famous for all the posh houses of wealthy Russians during soviet period. Posh houses still there! Went for a swim in the Baltic sea but had to walk about 200 metres until it was deep enough to swim, glad it wasn't a surf race as would have been a very long wade. Water pretty disgusting as more like a river but sand was lovely and white. A nice change from most European beaches full of pebbles. Bac...
