October 2012
So another month has passed pretty quick!
Work has been pretty busy non-stop! Stu has been working at a warehouse for a while now so we've had some regular income an being able to save more money which is great! He is building flat pack shelves, of all things! At least in the future he'll be able to build one without instructions! Work is still going well, very busy too many new accounts needing to be set up!
We went on a camping trip on the weekend of the 12th - 14th with the boys, I felt outnumbered! We went south of Perth about a couple of hours to Preston Beach. We stay at a local campsite in the bush, which was great!
We headed to the beach on Saturday and did a bit of 4x4 driving, this was intresting as none of us had done this before. Kyle was the driver, after letting the tyres down a little we were off! It was extremely bumpy ride and after a while Kyle got a bit scared of getting bogged in the sand and decided to do a 3 point turn, which involved getting stuck and us digging him out!
It was a rather enjoyable ride! After freeing ourselves we headed back to the campsite and started cooking up some BBQ food! We had a little visitor called a bandicoot, it looks like a GIANT rat, but more cute and less grubby! He was very friendly and clearly liked what we were cooking and wanted to share!
The campsite was awesome, pretty bushy with a few 'roos hanging around. One scared the crap out of me, in the dark, I nearly pooed myself! I went for a walk to the lake which was beautiful and I sat and chilled out for a while!
We had one more night in the tent with Simon, with Stu in the middle, I got a bit cold in the night and moved over to get closer to Stu. Who moved closer to Simon to get away from me, and Simon moved closer to the wall of the tent to get away from Stu. This continued throught the night, I woke up with half the tent and Stu and Simon huddled together in the other half!
On the way back we stop of in Mandurah to grab some food it was a beautiful day and we had a sandwich and a coffee.
We went shopping the weekend after and went a little made, we spent about $600 - $800 between us, I was quite proud of myself if I do say so!
This week at work I was given free tickets to Rock It festival, which we joined Kyle, Dave and Dave's brother Jared. It was a good day, we saw the black keys who were headling. The worse thing was the bloody flies, always buzzing in your face and ears! So fricking annoying!
The house is fine, it stays relatively cool even though it is warm outside, which is a good thing, especially at night! I'm a bit scared at how hot it will get especially January time when it gets stinking hot! The weather hasn't been too good which is a pain beacuse I had brought a new bikini and haven't had the chance to wear it, so I am slightly annoyed!
We have lso found a way to cut down our food costs, we head to the fresh fruit and veg market two train stops from us in Subiaco, where we buy a weeks worth of fruit and veg, plus extra fruit we would never buy for only $40, instead of $80! We got 2 punanets of 500g of strawberrys for $5, instead of $5 for just the one! What a bargain! Love it! Stu is much happier now that we are saving money!
We have also started looking for a car, but we are still unsure what we want and how much we want to spend but I would like a 4x4 while Stu wants a 'normal' car! But hopefully we'll find something half decent that we both agree on!
We haven't really done too much as we have been working hard to save our money so we can buy a car and move on after our six months are up!
I have really fallen in love with Australia, there is still things that annoy me, but it is much better than the UK.
Really miss you all, you have to come over here, its brilliant!
