We drove from Flagstaff, Az to the south rim of the Grand Canyon today. A worker at the hotel recommended that we drive up through the forests on Hwy 180. Petrified Forest We drove a little over 3 1/2 hours to get to the petrified forest. The landscape changed considerably. The area was much drier and desert-like.
