Back in London! How odd to be back in the place where the European escapades of Sophia all began back in August. So much has changed (my waistline, my hair, my capacity for cheese inhalation) and much is the same. It was funny being there in Autumn, so chilly and wet wet wet compared to the hot sunny blue days of arrival with Liv and Jess. We didn't do much this time, we only really had one full day and two nights.
But oh! I almost forgot. We arrived with Giorgia (she drove, it was a fun roadtrip actually with some good songs booming into the backseat) and she came with us to our hostel (which was feral; with an even feral-er caretaker/acting manager guy). Then we went to this place called Shephard's Bush Green to see the band Royksopp, from Norway, and it was so good I was impressed and it was funfun. We went to the outback bar afterwards which was like a depression land full of Australians so we quickly bailed and by that time we were tired and broke so we moseyed on home and said our goodbyes to G, before snoozing in our hostel room which now reeked of strongbow and spinning.
And! The next night was so very sweet, Pop, Liv and Ariane got me a very wonderful early birthday present in the form of tickets to see Chicago that night on West End!! It was a very generous gift and I was so excited! It was a great show and we loved it, despite the rain pouring down that night it was delightful. And frolicking around soaking wet swearing our heads off and asking kind people for directions who even used their gps for us, was an experience indeed. And we were rewarded by finding a cheap asian feed (with this really good chilli-seed sauce stuff! Will possibly lead to a burst appendix but totally worth it) and best of all, meeting my darling Jessie Kinivan! After 2 or maybe even 3 years apart, we were finally reunited, and in the most stylish of locations, London town. J
