Tokyo.
At Last! I am in the country where the toilet seats are heated, the udon is cheap, the sushi is perfection, and the label on the hotel kettle says "refresh yourself in the serene air of a tableland. A jolly tea party with congenial friends."
Back with mum, back to what feels like home, being with family after so long is bliss. It is a dream to travel together and this place is magical for our eyes and ears and Japanese obsessed stomachs…The sushi! The sticky rice! The tempura! The sashimi! The noodles! The Green Tea! The Teriyaki! The Miso! The Yakitori! The Tofu! The Udon! The Soba! AHHHHHH!
It is heaven on a chopstick.

This place is simply delightful. This city is so much fun and keeps getting better as you explore it. Aside from the insane subway tunnels (although may I add they were much cleaner and a bit less maze-like than Paris), I found Tokyo far less crazy/stressy than I imagined. There is so much to do but it doesn't overwhelm you like I found in other major cities I have visited, I found it all so different and beautiful and refreshing (and not polluted in the way I expected), with such wonderfully kind and helpful people, diversity of experiences and delicious street wandering. So many magical sights and mouth watering fashion and flashing lights and Asahi beer and moments of exhilaration at the realization you are in Tokyo…Tokyo. TOKYO.
It is an exciting kind of crazy I think, it opens your eyes when they start getting tired and it keeps them wide forever.
